Description

Ingredients

  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 carrots, diced
  • 1 cup frozen peas
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 4 cups mashed potatoes
  • Fresh thyme and rosemary
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • Butter and milk (for mashed potatoes)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, heat olive oil. Sauté onions and carrots until tender.
  3. Add ground meat; cook until browned.
  4. Stir in tomato paste, herbs, salt, and pepper; cook for an additional 2 minutes.
  5. Pour in beef broth and simmer for 10 minutes.
  6. Prepare creamy mashed potatoes with butter and milk until smooth.
  7. In a baking dish, layer meat filling, then top with mashed potatoes; create swirls with a fork.
  8. Bake uncovered for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
