  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tbsp powdered sugar (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line a baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, cream the softened butter and remaining sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add milk and vanilla extract to the butter mixture; mix until just combined.
  5. Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just mixed. Gently fold in diced strawberries.
  6. Pour batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. Allow cooling completely before transferring to a wire rack.
  8. Whip heavy cream with powdered sugar until soft peaks form. Serve bars topped with whipped cream and extra strawberry slices.
