Ingredients
Scale
- 4 cups fresh cherries, pitted
- 1 cup granulated sugar (adjust based on cherry sweetness)
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup whole milk (or almond/oat milk)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, toss the pitted cherries with 1/2 cup sugar and let them rest for about 10 minutes.

- Grease an 8-inch baking dish. Pour half of the batter into the dish and spread evenly. Layer the cherries on top, then dollop the remaining batter over them.
- Bake for 35-40 minutes until golden brown and bubbly around the edges.
- Allow to cool slightly before serving warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
