  • ¾ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup whole milk

  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1 ½ cups crushed Oreos (or chocolate sandwich cookies)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and sugar.
  3. In another bowl, mix eggs, milk, and vanilla until smooth.
  4. Gradually combine wet ingredients into dry ingredients; mix until just combined.
  5. Pour batter into prepared pans and bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. Cool cakes for 10 minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
  7. Whip heavy cream until soft peaks form; fold in crushed Oreos.
  8. Assemble: Layer cake with frosting in between and top with remaining frosting and cookie crumbs.
