  6. Fold in dry ingredients until just combined—do not overmix.
  7. Divide batter between prepared pans and bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  8. Allow cakes to cool for 10 minutes before transferring them to wire racks. Frost with cream cheese frosting once completely cooled.
