  • 4 medium russet potatoes (about 2 lbs), peeled and thinly sliced
  • 2 cups sharp cheddar cheese, shredded

  • 2 tsp olive oil
  • Salt & pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, heat olive oil. Sauté onions and garlic until fragrant (3-5 minutes).
  3. Add ground beef, salt, and pepper; cook until browned (7-10 minutes), breaking it apart as it cooks.
  4. Layer half the potato slices in a baking dish, followed by half the beef mixture and a generous sprinkle of cheddar cheese. Repeat layers.
  5. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove foil and bake an additional 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
