  • 14 oz firm tofu
  • 3 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp honey or maple syrup
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tsp fresh ginger, grated
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • ¼ cup cornstarch
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • 1 tbsp sriracha (optional)
  • 2 tbsp rice vinegar

Instructions

  1. Press the firm tofu between paper towels to remove excess moisture. Cut into 1-inch cubes.
  2. Coat each tofu cube evenly with cornstarch for crispiness.
  3. Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium-high heat and fry the tofu until golden brown on all sides (about 8-10 minutes).
  4. In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, honey/maple syrup, garlic, ginger, rice vinegar, and optional sriracha.
  5. Pour the sauce over the fried tofu in the skillet and stir gently to coat. Cook until the sauce thickens slightly.
  6. Garnish with chopped green onions and serve hot with rice or veggies.
