  • 2 large eggs (room temperature)
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • ½ cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 2 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 8 oz cream cheese (softened)
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (sifted)
  • Food coloring (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, combine red velvet cake mix, eggs, sour cream, melted butter, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  3. In another bowl, beat softened cream cheese with powdered sugar until fluffy. Add one egg and mix well.
  4. Pour half of the red velvet batter into the prepared pan, layer with cream cheese filling, then dollop remaining batter on top and swirl gently.
  5. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Let cool completely before slicing into bars.
