Description

Oreo Reindeer Cookies are a delightful and festive treat that adds cheer to any holiday gathering.   • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 24 Oreo cookies, crumbled
  • 12 mini pretzels (antlers)
  • 12 red candy melts or M&Ms (noses)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until combined.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add to wet ingredients until just combined.
  5. Fold in the crumbled Oreos gently.
  6. Scoop mounds of dough onto prepared baking sheets with space in between.
  7. Bake for about 10 minutes until edges are set but center remains soft; cool on wire racks.
  8. Decorate while warm: press pretzels into the top for antlers and attach candy melts or M&Ms for noses.
