- 1 lb ribeye steak, thinly sliced
- 1 medium sweet onion, diced
- 1 green bell pepper, diced
- 1 cup fresh mushrooms, sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
- 1 cup provolone cheese, shredded
- 4 cups sourdough bread, cubed
- 4 tbsp butter, melted
- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup milk
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking dish with butter.
- In a skillet over medium heat, sauté onions in olive oil until translucent. Add bell peppers and mushrooms; cook until softened.
- Push veggies aside and add ribeye steak to the skillet. Cook until browned; season with salt, pepper, and garlic.
- Layer half of the sourdough in the greased dish. Top with half of the steak mixture and half of each cheese. Repeat layers.
- In a bowl, whisk eggs and milk together; pour over layered casserole and press down gently.
- Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove foil and bake another 10 minutes until golden brown.
- Let cool slightly before slicing and serving.
