  • 1 lb beef flank steak, thinly sliced
  • 4 cups fresh broccoli florets
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp fresh ginger, grated
  • 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp toasted sesame oil
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 2 tsp cornstarch mixed with 2 tbsp water
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil (for cooking)
  • Sesame seeds (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Slice beef flank steak against the grain into thin strips; chop broccoli into bite-sized pieces.
  2. In a bowl, combine sliced beef with soy sauce, garlic, ginger, and brown sugar; marinate for at least 20 minutes.
  3. Blanch broccoli in boiling water for 2 minutes, then drain and rinse under cold water.
  4. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat; cook marinated beef in batches until browned (about 5 minutes). Remove from skillet.
  5. In the same skillet, whisk together soy sauce, sesame oil, cornstarch mixture, and remaining marinade; cook until bubbling (about 2 minutes).
  6. Add cooked beef and blanched broccoli to the skillet; stir to coat in sauce and heat through for another 2 minutes.
  7. Serve over steamed rice or noodles; garnish with sesame seeds.
