Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a large sheet pan (18×13 inches).
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In a saucepan over medium heat, melt butter with water until bubbling. Remove from heat and stir in buttermilk, sugar, eggs, and vanilla until smooth.
  4. Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet mixture using an electric mixer on low speed until combined.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
