Ingredients

  • 2 cups fresh cherries, pitted
  • 4 black tea bags
  • 1/4 cup sugar (or to taste)
  • 4 cups filtered water
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • Lemon slices for garnish

Instructions

  1. Boil 4 cups of filtered water in a pot until it reaches a rolling boil. Remove from heat and steep the tea bags for 5 minutes.
  2. While the tea is steeping, pit and mash the cherries in a bowl to release their juices.
  3. After steeping, remove tea bags and stir in sugar while warm. Add mashed cherries along with their juices.
  4. Let the mixture cool at room temperature for 30 minutes, then refrigerate for at least an hour.
  5. Serve over ice and garnish with lemon slices.
