  • 1 lb ground beef (80/20)
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup low-sodium beef broth
  • 1 cup fresh mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp olive oil (for searing)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, onion, Worcestershire sauce, egg, salt, and pepper. Mix gently until just combined.
  2. Shape the mixture into four oval patties, approximately 1 inch thick.
  3. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Sear each patty for about 3-4 minutes on each side until browned.
  4. Remove patties from the skillet and sauté sliced mushrooms until tender.
  5. Stir in beef broth and remaining Worcestershire sauce; bring to a simmer.
  6. Return the patties to the skillet, cover, and simmer on low for 15-20 minutes until cooked through.
