- 1 lb thinly sliced ribeye steak
- 4 oz provolone cheese
- 1 medium sweet onion, sliced
- 4 hoagie rolls
- 2 tbsp butter
Instructions
- Slice the ribeye steak as thinly as possible; slightly freeze it to make slicing easier.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, melt 1 tablespoon of butter and add the sliced onions. Sauté for about 10-15 minutes until caramelized.
- Push the onions to the side and add the ribeye steak to the skillet. Cook for 3-5 minutes until browned.
- Combine the caramelized onions with the cooked steak and layer provolone cheese on top. Cover to melt the cheese for about 2 minutes.
- Slice hoagie rolls open without cutting all the way through. Spread remaining butter on each side and toast in another skillet until golden brown.
- Generously spoon the steak mixture into each toasted roll and serve immediately.
