Ingredients

  • 1 lb thinly sliced ribeye steak
  • 4 oz provolone cheese
  • 1 medium sweet onion, sliced
  • 4 hoagie rolls
  • 2 tbsp butter

Instructions

  1. Slice the ribeye steak as thinly as possible; slightly freeze it to make slicing easier.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, melt 1 tablespoon of butter and add the sliced onions. Sauté for about 10-15 minutes until caramelized.
  3. Push the onions to the side and add the ribeye steak to the skillet. Cook for 3-5 minutes until browned.
  4. Combine the caramelized onions with the cooked steak and layer provolone cheese on top. Cover to melt the cheese for about 2 minutes.
  5. Slice hoagie rolls open without cutting all the way through. Spread remaining butter on each side and toast in another skillet until golden brown.
  6. Generously spoon the steak mixture into each toasted roll and serve immediately.
