  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 1 green bell pepper, finely chopped
  • 1 cup mushrooms, finely chopped
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (plain or Italian)
  • 2 large eggs
  • ½ cup ketchup or BBQ sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly spray a baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, onion, bell pepper, and mushrooms until well mixed.
  3. Add the cheddar cheese, Worcestershire sauce, breadcrumbs, eggs, salt, and pepper to the mixture; combine thoroughly.
  4. Shape the mixture into a loaf on the prepared baking dish.
  5. Spread ketchup or BBQ sauce generously over the top of the meatloaf.
  6. Bake for approximately 1 hour or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).
  7. Let rest for 10 minutes before slicing; serve with your favorite sides.
