Ingredients

Scale
  • 10 egg roll wrappers
  • 2 cups green cabbage, finely shredded
  • 1 cup carrots, grated
  • 1 cup protein of choice (pork, chicken, or tofu), cooked
  • 2 tablespoons low-sodium soy sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, minced
  • 2 cups vegetable oil (for frying)

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Sauté garlic and ginger until fragrant.
  2. Add shredded cabbage and carrots; cook until slightly softened.
  3. Stir in cooked protein and soy sauce; mix well and cook through.
  4. Lay an egg roll wrapper on a flat surface with one corner facing you. Place about two tablespoons of filling near that corner. Fold over tightly and roll up while tucking in the sides.
  5. Moisten edges with water to seal them closed.
  6. In a deep pan, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Fry egg rolls until golden brown on all sides (about 3-4 minutes per side). Drain on paper towels.
  7. Serve hot with dipping sauces like sweet chili or soy sauce.
