  • 6 slices brioche bread (1 inch thick)
  • 1 cup whole milk ricotta cheese
  • 2 large fresh oranges (zest and juice)
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • ½ tsp ground cinnamon
  • Powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a baking dish.
  2. Cut brioche into thick slices and arrange them in the baking dish.
  3. In a bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, ricotta cheese, vanilla, cinnamon, and zest from one orange until smooth.
  4. Pour half of the custard over the bread slices; let it soak for about 10 minutes.
  5. Drizzle remaining custard over the bread, topping with additional orange zest. Let rest for another 10 minutes.
  6. Bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown and puffed up.
  7. Dust with powdered sugar before serving hot.
