Instructions
- Wash the oranges thoroughly to remove any wax.
- Cut off the tops and bottoms, then quarter each orange and remove the inner fruit, retaining only the peels.
- Boil the peels in a pot of water for 15 minutes to soften them, then drain.
- Return peels to the pot, adding equal parts sugar and water (1 cup each). Stir until coated.
- Simmer on low heat for about 45 minutes until the peels are translucent and glistening, stirring occasionally.
- Remove from syrup using tongs and place on parchment paper. While warm, sprinkle with granulated sugar.
