  • 8 oz pasta (spaghetti, penne, or farfalle)
  • 1 lb cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 1 cup fresh basil leaves, torn
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Prep your ingredients: Wash and halve cherry tomatoes, chop garlic, and tear basil leaves.
  2. Cook the pasta: Boil salted water in a large pot and cook pasta until al dente according to package instructions.
  3. Sauté garlic & tomatoes: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant. Add halved tomatoes and cook until soft.
  4. Add seasonings & basil: Stir in salt and pepper; fold in torn basil leaves.
  5. Combine with pasta: Drain cooked pasta (reserve some water) and add it to the skillet. Toss everything together, adding reserved pasta water if needed.
  6. Finish & serve: Turn off heat and sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese before serving.
