  • 1/2 head green cabbage (chopped)
  • 1 medium yellow onion (thinly sliced)
  • 4 strips thick-cut bacon
  • 2 cloves fresh garlic (minced)
  • 1 tsp salt (to taste)
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper (to taste)
  • 1 Tbsp apple cider vinegar

Instructions

  1. Chop the cabbage into bite-sized pieces. Thinly slice the onion and mince the garlic.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon until crispy. Remove and keep the grease.
  3. Sauté the onions in the bacon grease until soft, about 5 minutes.
  4. Add chopped cabbage, minced garlic, salt, pepper, and apple cider vinegar. Stir well.
  5. Cook for 10-15 minutes until the cabbage wilts down. Stir occasionally.
  6. Crumble cooked bacon back into the skillet before serving and mix well.
