  • 14 oz soft tofu
  • 1 tbsp Sichuan peppercorns
  • 1/2 lb ground pork
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1-inch piece fresh ginger, grated
  • 2 tbsp doubanjiang (chili bean paste)
  • 3 green onions, chopped
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 2 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 cup chicken broth (low-sodium)
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch mixed with 2 tbsp water

Instructions

  1. Gather all ingredients and finely chop garlic, ginger, and green onions.
  2. Heat oil in a large pan over medium heat; add garlic and ginger until fragrant (1–2 minutes).
  3. Increase heat and add ground pork; cook until browned.
  4. Stir in doubanjiang and Sichuan peppercorns; simmer for another 2–3 minutes.
  5. Pour in chicken broth and soy sauce; bring to a gentle simmer.
  6. Gently fold in cubed tofu; let simmer for 5–7 minutes.
  7. Slowly stir in cornstarch slurry until sauce thickens.
