Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 12 Hawaiian rolls
  • 8 oz sliced provolone cheese
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 2 tbsp butter (for sautéing onions)
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking dish with nonstick spray.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, melt the butter and add sliced onions. Sauté until golden brown (about 5-7 minutes).
  3. Add ground beef to the skillet with onions. Cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula. Season with garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  4. Slice Hawaiian rolls in half without separating them completely. Layer the bottom half in the prepared baking dish.
  5. Evenly distribute the beef mixture over the rolls followed by slices of provolone cheese.
  6. Place the top half of the rolls over the cheese layer and brush melted butter on top.
  7. Bake for about 15 minutes until cheese is melted and rolls are golden brown.
