  • 4 large egg whites
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon white vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 1 cup heavy cream, chilled
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 250°F (120°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a clean bowl, whip egg whites until soft peaks form.
  3. Gradually add granulated sugar while beating until glossy stiff peaks are achieved.
  4. Gently fold in vinegar and cornstarch.
  5. Spoon meringue onto the baking sheet into an 8-inch round disc, creating swirls for cream later. Bake for about 1 hour until dry to the touch.
  6. Turn off oven, slightly ajar, and let cool completely.
  7. While cooling, wash strawberries and whip heavy cream with powdered sugar and vanilla until soft peaks form.
  8. Once cooled, transfer pavlova to a serving plate and top with whipped cream and strawberries.
