Indulge in the warmth of freshly baked orange rolls, where fluffy dough meets a burst of citrus flavor. Drizzled with a sweet glaze, these rolls transform any breakfast into a delightful occasion. Perfect for family gatherings or cozy mornings, they promise to brighten your day with every bite.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 ¼ tsp active dry yeast
  • 1 cup warm milk (110°F)
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • Zest of 2 oranges
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
  • 3 tbsp orange juice (freshly squeezed)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine warm milk and sugar; sprinkle yeast on top. Let sit for about 5 minutes until foamy.
  2. In another bowl, mix flour and salt. Gradually add to the yeast mixture along with melted butter and eggs. Stir until it forms a sticky dough.
  3. Knead on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth and slightly tacky.
  4. Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  5. While dough rises, mix brown sugar, orange zest, butter, and cinnamon for the filling.
  6. Roll out risen dough into a rectangle and spread filling evenly. Roll tightly and cut into 12 pieces.
  7. Place in a greased pan and let rise for another 30 minutes while preheating oven to 350°F.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Mix powdered sugar with orange juice and vanilla for glaze; drizzle over warm rolls.
