  • 34 lbs brisket (well-marbled)
  • 2 large yellow onions (sliced)
  • 4 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 2 cups low-sodium beef broth
  • 1/4 cup dark brown sugar
  • 2 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 2 tbsp Dijon mustard

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 300°F (150°C).
  2. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, sear the brisket on all sides until golden brown.
  3. Remove the brisket and sauté sliced onions in the same skillet until translucent. Add minced garlic and cook until fragrant.
  4. In a bowl, combine beef broth, brown sugar, Dijon mustard, paprika, cumin, salt, and pepper. Pour over the brisket in a baking dish.
  5. Cover tightly with aluminum foil or a lid and bake for about 3-4 hours until fork-tender.
  6. Allow to rest for at least 20 minutes before slicing.
