- 2 large yellow onions (sliced)
- 4 cloves garlic (minced)
- 2 cups low-sodium beef broth
- 1/4 cup dark brown sugar
- 2 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 2 tbsp Dijon mustard
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 300°F (150°C).
- In a large skillet over medium-high heat, sear the brisket on all sides until golden brown.
- Remove the brisket and sauté sliced onions in the same skillet until translucent. Add minced garlic and cook until fragrant.
- In a bowl, combine beef broth, brown sugar, Dijon mustard, paprika, cumin, salt, and pepper. Pour over the brisket in a baking dish.
- Cover tightly with aluminum foil or a lid and bake for about 3-4 hours until fork-tender.
- Allow to rest for at least 20 minutes before slicing.
