  • 2 tbsp freshly cracked black peppercorns
  • 1/4 cup shallots (finely chopped)
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup beef or chicken broth
  • 1/4 cup dry white wine

Instructions

  1. In a skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the shallots and sauté for 3-4 minutes until translucent.
  2. Pour in the white wine, simmering until reduced by half.
  3. Add the broth and boil gently for about 5 minutes until slightly thickened.
  4. Stir in the heavy cream and black peppercorns. Simmer for another 3-4 minutes until thickened to your liking.
