  • 2 thick slices of sourdough or ciabatta bread
  • 1 cup fresh mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • ¼ cup pizza sauce
  • ½ tsp Italian seasoning
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter

Instructions

  1. Prepare your ingredients by slicing the bread thickly.
  2. Spread pizza sauce on one side of each slice, then layer with mozzarella cheese and sprinkle Italian seasoning.
  3. Heat a skillet over medium heat and melt 1 tablespoon of butter until bubbly.
  4. Place one sandwich in the skillet, pressing down slightly. Cook for 3-4 minutes until golden brown, then flip carefully.
  5. Cook the other side for another 3-4 minutes until the cheese melts completely.
  6. Slice in half and serve immediately with extra pizza sauce for dipping.
