  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

  • 1 tsp baking powder

  • 1 tbsp red food coloring (gel)
  • 4 oz cream cheese (softened)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×9-inch baking pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, melt the butter and mix in granulated and brown sugars until smooth.
  3. Add eggs and vanilla extract; whisk until fluffy.
  4. Sift in cocoa powder, flour, baking powder, and salt; fold gently until combined.
  5. Drizzle red food coloring into the batter, stirring for even color.
  6. In another bowl, combine softened cream cheese with an egg yolk, sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
  7. Pour half the brownie batter into the pan, dollop cream cheese mixture on top, then add remaining brownie batter.
  8. Swirl gently with a knife.
  9. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until edges are firm but center is soft. Allow cooling before cutting into squares.
