Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef (85% lean)
  • 1 lb ground pork
  • 1 cup fresh breadcrumbs
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup low-sodium beef broth
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • Fresh parsley, for garnish
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 3 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, onion, garlic, and egg. Mix gently until just combined.
  2. Form mixture into small meatballs (about 1 inch in size) and place on a baking sheet.
  3. In a skillet over medium heat, melt butter and brown meatballs in batches for about 5-7 minutes.
  4. Remove meatballs and set aside. In the same skillet, whisk flour into pan juices until smooth. Gradually add beef broth while stirring until simmering.
  5. Stir in heavy cream and let thicken slightly before adding sour cream. Return meatballs to the pan for an additional 5 minutes.
