Instructions
- In a bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let sit until frothy (5-10 mins).
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, salt, and cinnamon. Create a well and add the yeast mixture, beaten egg, and melted butter. Mix to form a shaggy dough.
- Knead on a floured surface for 5-7 minutes until smooth. Place in an oiled bowl covered with a cloth to rise for about an hour or until doubled.
- For the filling: In a small bowl, mix softened butter, sugar, and cinnamon.
- Roll out risen dough into a rectangle (12×18 inches) and spread filling evenly. Roll tightly and slice into 12 rolls.
- Arrange rolls in a greased baking dish; let rise for another 30 minutes. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
- Cool slightly before drizzling with frosting made from powdered sugar mixed with milk and vanilla.
