  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 15 oz canned tomato sauce
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 4 tbsp chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 8 oz spaghetti (cooked al dente)
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (for topping)
  • Sour cream (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef until fully cooked.
  2. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic; sauté until onions are translucent (about 5 minutes).
  3. Stir in the tomato sauce and Worcestershire sauce; simmer for approximately 5 minutes.
  4. Mix in chili powder, cinnamon, cocoa powder, brown sugar, salt, and pepper; stir well.
  5. Reduce heat and let the chili simmer uncovered for 20-30 minutes to thicken.
  6. While the chili simmers, cook the spaghetti according to package directions; drain well.
  7. Serve the chili over spaghetti and top with shredded cheese and optional sour cream.
